Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position

Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.

Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is undertaking a multi-year comprehensive transformation of its systems, environment, and business structure. DMV is prioritizing a complete transformation of its service offerings, focusing on a new business model centered around an online strategy wherever feasible. This customer-centric approach will serve as the guiding principle for all initiatives. The implementation of this new solution is currently underway, with collaboration from Salesforce, MuleSoft, Amazon Web Services, and Slalom in a multi-year effort to transition to a cloud-based architecture, delivering incremental functionality. This position will play a key role in supporting this initiative.

This position will support the design, implementation, and operation of a release management system to facilitate all initiatives. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to execute release plans that align with business objectives, testing and timelines; maintaining comprehensive documentation of release scope, objectives, and deliverables; facilitating communication among teams involved in the release process; conducting status meetings to update stakeholders on progress and challenges associated with releases; developing mitigation plans; supporting build and deployment processes to ensure consistency; participating in the implementation and enhancement of automated build and deployment pipelines; maintaining quality gates to prevent release of defective software; managing communications related to deployments and downtimes that affect business operations; monitoring and addressing post-release reviews and issues, working closely with support teams to provide resolutions and identify improvements, and preparing reports. Under the authority of NRS 239B.010.1(b), the DMV utilizes NRS 205.4605 - 205.810, NRS 293.504, NRS 293.5045, 6 CFR 37.45, 49 CFR 1572.103, and 49 CFR 384.228 as criteria to obtain a FBI fingerprint clearance check on current and prospective employees. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
