Teradata Operations Manager Cloud Ops in Navi Mumbai, India

What You’ll Do

  • In this role as Operations Manager, CloudOps, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the cloud infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency. Let’s delve into the key aspects of this position:

  • Customer Focus: Understand critical customer's unique needs and priorities. Primary point of contact for designated critical customers addressing concerns, inquiries, and service needs promptly and effectively leveraging SNOW.

  • Oversee and optimize cloud operations for critical customers, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of services. Prioritize and manage incoming tickets from critical customers, ensuring timely resolution and proactive communication throughout the process.

  • Review cases, incidents and changes and help drive to improve turnaround time and perform audit/PM to bring out what can be improved while dealing with critical issues.

  • You'll engage with L1, L2, L3, product support and engineering orgs. to examine open and work-in-progress incidents and issues. Discuss any obstacles with the leads and create action plans to close these tickets efficiently.

  • Continuous Improvement: Analyse operational processes and identify opportunities for streamlining workflows and enhancing efficiency in managing critical customer environments. Additionally, you'll address situations where customer perception may have been negatively impacted during ticket handling.

  • Outage monitoring is another critical aspect. You'll track outages, gaining insights into the current customer situation. Validate outages, ensure Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) are in place, and follow up on action statuses derived from RCAs.

  • During S1 situations, this role plays a vital role. Ensure the right team members engage, oversee post-checks, maintain timely communication with customers, and minimize damage and focus on Return to Service.

  • Change management is part of your responsibility. Collaborate with Operations Leads to coordinate and execute changes, maintenance activities, and upgrades, minimizing disruption to critical customer environments. Review open and work-in-progress changes, ensuring adherence to best practices. Collaborate closely with Delivery/implementation teams and ensure appropriate scheduling, peer reviews, and proactively identify potential areas of error to minimize disruptions.

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Daily review of all the open cases, incidents and Changes and work with ops teams/leads to drive to closure. Track historical learnings for the sites and ensure established processes are always followed for the site.

The position will report to Senior Delivery Manager, Cloud Operations.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

  • A B.E/B.Tech degree in computer science or a related field is typically required.

  • 10+ Years of IT Experience working with Large Enterprise Customers.

  • Several years of experience in managing Infrastructure operations, Data Platform/Lake management.

  • Solid understanding of cloud technologies, including virtualization, networking, databases, and storage.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

What You’ll Bring

  • Possess Cloud Associate or Professional Level Cloud Certification from AWS, Azure or GC

  • Having hands-on experience across multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is valuable. Understanding the nuances of each platform allows for effective cross-cloud management.

  • DevOps Mindset: Familiarity with DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and Git-based workflows. CloudOps often intersects with DevOps principles.

  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

  • Experience handling critical incidents, root cause analysis (RCA), and post-incident reviews. Strong troubleshooting skills are essential.

  • Effective leadership skills, conflict resolution, and clear communication.

  • A growth mindset and willingness to stay updated on cloud trends, emerging technologies, and industry developments.
