Cruz Associates, Inc. Industrial Maintenance Technician-Electrician in Naval Weapons Station Indian Head, Maryland
Scope of Performance: Qualified Industrial Maintenance Technician-Electrician to support maintenance, repair, and installation of explosive and chemical processing equipment. Technician will work in all explosive and chemical processing areas as determined by management or COR. Technician shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements. Technician will also support varying shifts including night shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspects test and modifies control panels for operation of ordnance industrial equipment such as cutting machine, bradding machine, mixers, presses, extruding equipment, stress test equipment and real time x-ray equipment
In industrial areas performs, testing, maintains, trouble shoots and deferred maintenance repairs electrical power lines, cables, lighting equipment, and associated components, including raceways, supports, wiring switches, outlets, light fixture, fuse boxes, circuit breakers and panels, transformers, computer circuits and various motors and fans
Maintains explosion proof/general purpose electrical/electronic industrial equipment, such as manual and magnetic motor starters, transformers, surge suppressers, sequential relay cabinets, overload phase protectors and controllers of all types
Test, trouble shoot, maintain, and restores to service an array of non-standard industrial equipment and systems. These include vibration test systems, safety interlock systems for hazardous operations, explosive grain cutting machinery with remote controls, explosive braiding machinery, power conditioning systems, energy management systems, and electronically controlled uninterrupted power supplies. Use various tools and test equipment, such as multi-meters protective relay testers, and ammeters
Adept in requirements of National Electrical Code
Ability to read blueprints and blueprint symbols
Education and Experience:
Master’s or Journeyman’s License preferred, can be supplemented with experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to pass explosives handler physical and respirator fit test
Ability to pass Ammo-18 certification class
Sound technical and computer skills
Sufficient knowledge of mathematics
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.)
