Summary You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Logistics Operations Division of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND. Responsibilities You will provide technical advice, recommendations, and clarifications to MSC ships on the availability of supplies and services and ordering methods. You will provide reports on contract performance to respective NAVSUP Contracting Officers. You will use MSC Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). You will support monitoring of program effectiveness and identification of process changes when standards are not met. You will provide and facilitate training as required. You will conduct periodic assessments and inspections of ship records, both aboard ship and from the office Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For GS-13 : Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Resume must demonstrate the following specialized experiences: Experience supporting the management of the civilian mariner (CIVMAR) supply department community involves coordinating the development and maintenance of Supply Rating Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience identifying and developing training requirements leading to the creation of a training curriculum. Experience coordinating with MSC Civilian Mariner (CIVMAR) placement and training staffs facilitates the delivery of training courses and including informal, distance support training or onsite training. Experience developing shipboard supply manning authorizations. Experience identifying and coordinating work performance standards with applicable Personnel Management staffs enhances recruitment efforts and participation in promotion boards. Experience coordinating Supply Department course development and schedules, including frequency and location. Experience participating in MSC Supply-Rating promotion boards contributes to the development of the technical portion of Merit Promotion Board crediting plans. Experience supporting the command recruiter by attending job fairs. Experience managing the MSC ship Exchange Location Operation (ELO) program involves monitoring overall program health, including governance, profitability, shipboard performance and compliance regarding records, returns, and inventory. Experience performing the Navy Type Commander (TYCOM) oversight role supply department operations including recommending of changes to afloat supply policies, procedures, automated systems, and training curriculum. Experience initiating and revising supply instructions and Standard Operating Procedures. Experience benchmarking new or emerging best commercial marine logistics practices participating in external studies and analyses, researching industry best practices, collaborating with other Divisions, and determining the feasibility of adopting and implementing these practices. Experience recommending improvements to logistics systems.
