Military Sealift Command Financial Technician in Naval Base, Virginia

Responsibilities You will maintain ledgers, budget formulations, compile, consolidate, check and arrange funding data. You will make and verify arithmetical computations. You will prepare and analyze financial reports. You will review and maintain complex accounting, budget and/or fiscal transactions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialize experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Using accounting, budget and financial management law and regulations to perform research and resolve accounting transaction posting errors. Extracting financial data from financial management systems and exporting into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. Verifying and reconciling accounts and accounting data to prepare reports. Maintaining ledgers, budget formulation and checking and arranging funding data to ensure compliance. For GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialize experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience using accounting, budgeting, and financial management methods, practices and procedures to examine accounting data. Experience using Microsoft Suite Word and Excel to create, collect, store, manipulate and relay accounting/financial information. Experience verifying arithmetical computations and accounting data to ensure accuracy. Education If using an Educational Substitution - Provide Unofficial Transcript For GS-5: Four (4) years above high school. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. For GS-6: No educational substitution Combining Education and Experience: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements at grades GS-5.If you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you must submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume.
