Responsibilities You will ensure that all EKMS material is maintained in a current status and any material authorized for destruction is properly and completely destroyed, documented, and reported. You will assess the security impact of reports of physical incidents of superseded, effective, and future keying material held, and determines whether a compromise has occurred. You will perform routine unannounced spot checks of local element EKMS/KMI accounts to ensure compliance with existing regulations and evaluate EKMS/KMI Local Element custodian’s management techniques. You will provide training for Local Element EKMS/KMI personnel through a series of formal and informal lectures, training visits, inspections, and spot-checks. You will manage the Local Management Device/Key Processor (LMD/KP), Advanced Key Processor (AKP) and Local COMSEC Management Software (LCMS). You will develop, monitor, coordinate, process, control, transmit, and safeguard specialized communications security information. You will consult and advise in the development, formulation, installation and management of policy in all matters regarding Electronic Key Management System (EKMS)/Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) and its support of Local Elements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing electronic key management systems by assessing Communications Security (COMSEC) information to identify vulnerabilities and reduce adverse effects for an electronic key management program. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Successful completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree. OR Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree.
