Naval Facilities Engineering Command ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida

Responsibilities You will develop detailed cost estimates identifying required man-hours and materials necessary to support projects. You will use Computer Aided Design (CAD) Drafting software or conventional drafting methods to produce designs and working drawings. You will interpret specifications or instructions to ensure adequacy of material and equipment You will develop statements of work covering technical engineering designs or engineering changes for contracts and solicitations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning and estimating construction, alterations, maintenance and repair work for various facilities and equipment; 2) Developing the statements of work, specifications and drawings/sketches for project execution via in-house shop forces or contract; 3) Visiting job sites while work is in progress and upon completion of work to ensure work is accomplished in accordance with specifications and all safety standards are met; and 4) Reviewing contractor invoices for completeness and accuracy.
