Naval Education and Training Command AUDIOVISUAL PRODUCTION SPECIALIST in Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida

Responsibilities You will determine formats, approaches, content, levels, and mediums necessary to meet production objectives effectively and within budgetary constraints. You will use production and editing software to develop original multimedia productions for client requests. You will liaise, direct, and coordinate requirements and personnel involved in the production and distribution process. You will contribute technical insight to analyze, diagnose, report, or correct technical problems and malfunctions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience taking productions from conception to completion to include: scriptwriting/re-writing and storyboarding, capturing video, either in the field or the studio, editing the video, adding soundtracks, and providing a finished product to the end-user in various pre-approved formats. 2) Skilled in operating standard video recording equipment, video cameras, and related items such as lighting, sound, and editing equipment. 3) Knowledge of the processes, methodologies, equipment, scripting, personnel, and related requirements involved in producing quality audiovisual productions. 4) Skilled in the development of production schedules, coordinating staff activities, and conducting administrative and logistical arrangements. 5) The ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders. For GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledge of the processes, methodologies, equipment, scripting, personnel, and related requirements involved in producing quality audiovisual productions. 2) Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and practices of audiovisual production to independently perform recurring assignments. 3) Skills in operating standard video recording equipment, video cameras, and related items such as lighting, sound, and editing equipment. 4) Ability to produce and direct an audiovisual production; edit films, video, and scripts; and create computer images for audiovisual products. 5) The ability to communicate effectively. Education This position allows for education substitution: For GS-11 I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with a major study in photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position. Or I have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with a major study in photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position. Or I have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. Or I have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. For GS-09 I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related Or I have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. Additional Information Recent graduates must be appointed within two years of being awarded a bachelor's or graduate degree from a qualifying educational institution. The two-year period of eligibility will be extended to four years for veterans who have completed a period of obligated uniformed service of more than four years, and were awarded a degree by an institution of higher education not more than four years before the date of appointment. The four-year uniformed service requirement need not be continuous. DD214 or other veteran documentation must be provided in those cases. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
