Naval Air Systems Command Supervisory Weight Handling Equipment Program Specialist in Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida

Summary You will serve as a Supervisory Weight Handling Equipment Program Specialist in the Facility and Plant Maintenance Division of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST. Responsibilities You will monitor the performance of technical work practices to confirm consistent, safe, and technically correct work practices are being followed. You will identify developmental and training needs of personnel for career development. You will assign work to junior level employees to complete work based on priorities and the capabilities of employees. You will manage the operation of industrial equipment (e.g., cranes, rigging equipment) through lower level supervisory staff. You will determine the organization's overall resource needs to meet long-range work plans. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Supervising and managing the day-to-day operations through subordinates to fulfill the mission of an organization; 2) Assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the assignments, and the capabilities of the employees; 3) Evaluating the performance of all employees over whom he/she has supervisory control; 4) Ensuring that equipment is safe to operate, that weight handling operations are conducted safely and efficiently, and to maintain optimum equipment service life; 5) Identifying deficiencies in the WHE program and ensuring corrective actions are taken; 6) Collaborating with Production managers and WHE Program Specialist to ensure periodic inspections, evaluations, and surveys of facilities, equipment, and operations are completed.
