Summary You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (CUSTSPT) in the Hopper Global Communication Center, Operations Dept. (ISN3), Services Division (ISCN33) of HOPPER GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER. All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. Responsibilities You will report incidents and record problems, assess the impact, cost, benefit, and risk of proposed problems. You will document Standard Operating Procedures and Knowledge Base of common incidents on direction of senior technician. You will facilitate efficient and prompt handling of all incidents and assigned problems through the incident and problem resolution system. You will create periodic reports of performance relative to defined key performance indicators and provide them to the incident manager. You will provide matrix to the incident manager to evaluate proposed methods for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness for compliance with Government regulations and contract policy. You will participate in incident and problem management meetings and reviews or participates actively in all scheduled and impromptu meetings and reviews. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GG/GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Serve as IT Services Customer Support Technician reporting incidents and recording problems; 2) Assist in assessing the impact, cost, benefit, and risk of proposed problems; 3) Apply problem management principles and policies; 4) Follow established incident management policy, plans, and procedures; 5) Employ standardized methods and procedures for efficient and prompt handling of all incidents and problems to minimize the impact of any related incidents upon service; 6) Learn and Maintain proper balance between priority and impact.
