Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications
Minimum of 18 hours or master's in hospitality or closely related field required. Preference given to candidates with experience in teaching undergraduate-level courses in hospitality. Demonstrated ability to effectively teach courses in hospitality and/or culinary arts is desired. Documented teaching experience and research or professional record are preferred. Applicants should possess extensive knowledge in hospitality management and culinary arts with the ability to utilize a variety of technology. Documented record of teaching both face-to-face and online classes. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Applicants should be able to meet ACPHA scholarly or professional qualifications. Publications and evidence of research capability are expected for scholarly qualifications.
Job Concepts
Teach 12-15 credit hours of business courses, maintain office hours, advise/counsel students, provide service to the Hospitality Management & Tourism, the College of Business and Technology as well as NSU, serve on various committees and assist in program development. Have the ability to meet ACPHA scholarly or professional qualification. Publications and
evidence of research capability are expected for scholarly qualifications. Professional engagement and evidence of professional expertise are expected for professional qualifications. Participate in professional service activities within the college, university, or above. Other duties as assigned by the HMT Coordinator.
