Amazon Sr Program Manager, Business Planning and Strategy, NACF Central Ops in Nashville, Tennessee

The Business Planning & Strategy team (BP&S) within the North America Customer Fulfillment (NACF) is seeking Program Manager III (PM III) to help define the roadmap for Centralized tools and Analytics needed for Project intake, Project and Portfolio Management, Content management, etc. These tools and analytics will support the needs of program and product teams who will leverage them for planning and tactical execution, L8+ senior leaders who will leverage them for strategic portfolio planning and reporting, and partner teams such as Finance, Tech and Operations to collaborate and view portfolio health.

Global Customer Fulfillment Amazon Customer Excellence System (GCF ACES) is seeking Program Manager III (PM III) to help define the roadmap for Centralized tools and Analytics needed for Project intake, Project and Portfolio Management, Content management, etc. These tools and analytics will support the needs of program and product teams who will leverage them for planning and tactical execution, L8+ senior leaders who will leverage them for strategic portfolio planning and reporting, and partner teams such as Finance, Tech and Operations to collaborate and view portfolio health.

This is an opportunity to help shape the business direction and operating model of a rapidly growing organization with a global span of control and a multi-million-dollar portfolio. This position combines global strategic thinking with hands-on planning and oversight, and the ability to represent a project portfolio that touches every aspect of Amazon’s global fulfillment operation.

As this is a support role, the PM III must be able to earn trust by developing and communicating plans that work backwards from our customers. This individual also needs to be able to operate in ambiguous situations and think outside the box when our customers’ problems may not always have clear solutions. Finally this PM III will need to lead by example, raising the bar on project life cycle management and compliance to standards for their own program.

While we prefer candidates who can be located out of Arlington, Bellevue, Nashville and Phoenix, we are open to other locations as long as the individual can work from an Amazon site for at least 3-days per week.

Key job responsibilities

Define requirements and tool selection for centralized for Project intake, Project and Portfolio Management, Content management, etc

Define metrics for tool health and compliance and building analytics capabilities in partnership with developer teams

Partner with developer teams through platform development, testing, bug fixes, etc.

Develop and implement launch plans to pilot and roll out the platform

Continuous improvement of tools, processes and analytics for Project and Portfolio Management

Our team is responsible for developing, implementing, and refining the overall strategy of a business. Our teams include project management office, change management, Policy 2.0, and global strategy. Our works involves a combination of analysis, planning, and execution to drive sustainable growth and success

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
