Amazon's NA OPS PXT (inclusive of First, Middle, and Last Mile) SPARK (Strategic People Analytics & Reporting Kapabilities) team is a dynamic, forward-thinking team tasked with balancing people, process, and technology to help HR make informed decisions and deliver results. Are you passionate about using data and analytics to drive impactful business solutions for Amazon's workforce? You'll partner cross-functionally with HR, Operations, Finance, and Workforce Staffing to design and implement scalable HR analytics and identify opportunities for improvement across North America Operations. A curious, collaborative approach and the ability to leverage data, policy, process, and communication to drive excellence in the employee life cycle are a must.

We are looking for enterprising, focused, organized self-starters to help further the SPARK team's focus on people data mining and analytics, workforce planning, and development of the HR capabilities.Demonstrate advanced writing ability to help communicate and sell ideas and systems within the organization.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design analytical approach, and deliver findings using data, visualizations, and effective storytelling techniques

  • Independently define analytical approach and metrics strategy

  • Act as a company-wide resource on how to access or retrieve some of the most complex data through efficient query design

  • Work with data owners, production systems, or other authoritative sources to guarantee data fidelity

  • Apply a breadth of tools and analytical techniques to answer a wide-range of high-impact people-related business questions

  • Comfortably and skillfully flex among various tools according to the problem and data

  • Derive recommendations from analysis that have impact on multiple teams and provide significant business value

  • Interact with other teams to ensure coordination of efforts throughout the project and obtain buy-in as needed

  • Influence development roadmaps to build scalability and automation into reporting and analysis

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, and/or related discipline.

  • 7+ years of experience in quantitative or process improvement roles, using data analytics, mining, and/or visualization to solve problems.

  • Knowledge of data engineering pipelines, cloud solutions, ETL management, databases, visualizations and analytical platforms

  • Experience in aggregating and analyzing data spanning multiple sources, experience with business intelligence tools

  • Experience hiring and leading a high-performance team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, and/or related discipline

  • History of developing and implementing creative solutions for improved efficiency and effectiveness in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment

  • Customer focus and professional demeanor; High bias for action and passion for rolling up sleeves and doing what it takes to “get it done”

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six-Sigma, DMAIC/Agile, or root-cause analysis approaches

  • Experience participating in cross-functional, multi-geographic teams to define trends, measure the effectiveness of programs, and develop and implement new solutions.

  • Excellent organizational, collaborative, relational and interpersonal skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $233,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
