In this role, you will drive the growth of our cloud business by designing and supporting cutting-edge technical solutions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and potential customers, bridging the gap between customer needs and innovative cloud-based capabilities. By creating robust architectures and facilitating successful sales engagements, you will help transform opportunities into impactful results.

Beyond solution development, you will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency by managing essential reporting and administrative tasks. This includes maintaining the sales pipeline and reporting, supporting bi-weekly and quarterly reporting, and tracking progress against specific goals. Your ability to stay organized and communicate effectively will ensure that the team remains aligned with strategic objectives.

Additionally, you will contribute to advancing our development practices, focusing on process improvements and DevSecOps methodologies. When challenges arise, your technical expertise will be instrumental in solving complex development and coding issues, ensuring that our technical capabilities remain best-in-class.

This position requires the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Think big and be able to focus on strategic business outcomes, while also able to dive deep on technical solutioning

  • Lead consulting and planning efforts through the phases of customer problem solving and solutioning including developing: business case, cloud strategy, organization change management, as well as higher order processes such as governance strategy, roadmap development, and application portfolio rationalization, or hands on development and programming to deliver the best solution design

  • Participate in customer advisory and capture activities including workshops, client presentations, and proposal development

  • Collaborate with a variety of product and business owners to help understand business requirements and provide guidance on solution architecture/approaches

  • Define reference architectures and help build guidance around those architectures’ best practices and usage recommendations

  • Guide and support technology implementations to include development, configuration, networking, security, data services, Cloud Best Practice configurations, and governance controls)

  • Provide input to technology investments at many different levels in the organization

  • Support the development of account plans to build long-term relationships with customers and identify new opportunities

  • Support pre-sales business capture and development functions

  • Support delivery of enterprise-wide transformation programs

  • Execute administrative functions for organizational and reporting purposes

Required Skills & Experience

  • Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts

  • Experience designing, migrating, or delivering highly complex cloud solutions, balancing costs, security, and risk with stated business objectives

  • Ability and experience leading or supporting multi-stream cloud transformation programs and initiatives for mid and large-scale organization in all the following areas: quantifying the business value of cloud, evaluating the organizational impact of cloud adoption, defining cloud architectural principles, and articulating key security considerations for public cloud moves

  • Experience with modern development and testing techniques such as continuous delivery and continuous integration

  • Experience in cloud infrastructure, development, and operations

  • Strong technical writing and proposal writing skills required

  • Ability to prioritize tasking, adapt and self-motivate

  • Be willing to learn, collaborate, contribute and improve

  • Be ready to roll up your sleeves

  • Achieve and maintain Public Cloud Professional level certifications (e.g. AWS SA Professional, AWS Development Professional, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, and Google Cloud Architect)

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Government client experience including classified environments and support

  • 10+ years of broad IT and Cloud technical experience

  • Big4 or equivalent consulting experience highly desired

  • Proven ability to articulate and clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical and impactful manner

  • Well-versed with current trends in cloud computing technologies

The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications. The proposed salary for this position is:

$114,700—$188,000 USD
