Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Data Abstractor Team Lead, you will be responsible for day-to-day operational activities as it relates to abstraction of data for Neuroscience Registry.

What you will do in this role:

• Provide general workflow direction to abstraction staff

• Assist in staff training and development

• Assist Clinical Data Abstraction Manager in the review and improvement of processes and services

• Complete quality control monitoring and reporting of completed abstracts for accuracy and timeliness

• Complete edit checks and makes appropriate changes on a timely basis

• Follow standards and COG/Parallon instructions to abstract all reportable cases.

• Maintain or exceeds established productivity and quality standards

• Report to the manager on team and individual work accomplishments, problems, progress in mastering tasks and processes

• Resolve errors resulting in the rejection of records from the data entry system.

What qualifications you will need:

• Undergraduate (Associate or Bachelor) degree preferred

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Health Information Management; Coding, Nursing, and/or Health Registry abstraction experience

• CAISS credential through the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine required

• RHIT, RHIA, CCS, LVN or RN preferred
