Army National Guard Units MATERIALS HANDLER (SSC) (TITLE 32) in Nashville, Tennessee

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MATERIALS HANDLER (SSC) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD1909000 and is part of the TN ARMY Army National Guard. This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 103 (Volunteer Chapter). Responsibilities As a MATERIALS HANDLER, WG-6907-07, you will plan and lay out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the individual and lower graded worker(s). Posses the knowledge and skills found at the journeyman level as well as those required for planning, accomplishing, and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program. Independently determine appropriate maintenance procedures such as how and when the work should be accomplished. Devise and maintain all program plans and records, is skilled in surveillance and troubleshooting techniques, and is able to determine maintenance/repair procedures needed without benefit of technical supervisory guidance. Plan, organize and direct shop maintenance programs/procedures under general supervision. Determine approaches, methods and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner. Provide recommendations and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, position description changes, disciplinary actions, leave, etc. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E-5 through O-2 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to compare item identification against receiving reports and issue request forms; skill in using hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment to move stock; ability to use hammers, pliers, and other hand tools; and to follow oral and written instructions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 12 months experience performing inventory and inspections to determine serviceability of stocked items. Experience in interpreting and applying written instructions, reference materials, publications, and manuals. Experience in setting up and rotating storage locations considering factors such as life expectancy, available space, product turnover, etc. Education Education Requirement: None Additional Information If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency (Register | Selective Service System : Selective Service System (sss.gov)).
