Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager of Social Services is responsible for the overall management of the Social Work Program to include: Hiring, training, supervising orientation, providing clinical supervision, triage, completing PMP’s and competency assessments, coordinating with other management staff, monitoring documentation for compliance with policies, and serves as liaison with outside agencies as it pertains to Social Work related issues. The Manager Social Services will be responsible for managing social workers and CMAs within Skyline Medical Center.

What qualifications you will need:

• Masters of Social Work required

• LCSW and/or LMSW required

• 1+ years of leadership experience preferred

• 3+ years of acute care social work experience preferred

• 2+ years of case management experience preferred

• Knowledge of internal, community and post-acute care resources

• Basic social worker skills including but not limited to empathy, sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity, advocacy, communication and crisis intervention

What you will do in this role:

• Maintain responsibility for the overall management of the Social Work program.

• Provide Clinical Supervision of all Non LCSW Social Workers to ensure quality and to provide supervision required by State law to allow Social Workers to take the Licensure examination.

• Provide consultation and coordinates with Nursing Coordinators regarding Social Work services.

• Liaise with the University of Tennessee School of Social Work regarding student MSSW SW interns to include coordinating the Business Agreement completion, selection of interns, ensuring all mandatory paperwork is completed; coordinate training and supervision of interns.

• Assist Care Coordinators, Social Workers, other professional staff, patients and families with ethical issues to include duty to warn situations.

• Oversee and ensure Completion of PMP and competencies for all Social Work staff.

• Coordinate with outside agencies when clinically indicated to improve quality of patient care.

• Attend and participate in Leadership meetings to represent Social Work Services.

• Maintain documentation audits and direct observation audits to ensure compliance with JCAHO, Medicare, and National Association of Social Work standards.

• Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients.

• Develop and review Social Work-related policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and Social Work standards.

• Provide leadership in all areas related to Social Work to encourage positive morale for staff.
