Connexus, Inc. ECF Support Specialist-Intensive Behavior in Nashville, Tennessee
The Employment Community First (ECF) Intensive Behavior Specialist is responsible for services which promote and support the person's goal of being integrated and participating in the community, as well as fostering patient independence by daily support, transportation and education for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities who have co-occurring mental health diagnosis as well as challenging behaviors under supervision of the Program Coordinator in accordance with the licensed Mental Health Professional and Person Centered Support Plan. The ECF Intensive Behavior Specialist is expected to perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the mission and values of Connexus while complying with policies and procedures, OSHA, HIPPA, local, state, and federal regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities of an ECF Intensive Behavior Specialist:
- The ECF Intensive Behavior Specialist role is designed to support the achievement of integrated employment outcomes consistent with the clients personal and work related career goals.

``` - Promote a warm homelike environment and appropriate day activity/ workplace environment while providing direct assistance in activities needed for the individual participant to sustain work, including job coaching, supervision and training;

``` - Provides direct assistance in training, retraining or improving the social and vocational functioning of the individual participant worker;

``` - Provide one-on-one training tailored to the needs of the person supported and authorized services;

``` - Provide on the job training while implementing appropriate work behaviors and soft skills;

``` - Provides active support and direct assistance in facilitating natural supports at the work site;

``` - Provides other support services at or away from work site, such as transportation and personal assistance services.

``` - Completes daily notes detailing client activities supporting the approved Person Centered Support Plan.

``` - The ECF Intensive Behavior Specialist is responsible for preventing client abuse by adhering to all policies and procedures, attending periodic training, reporting suspicious and inappropriate behavior, and following mandatory abuse reporting requirements

``` - Shall be responsible for any personal assistance needed during the hours that Supported Employment services are provided
Additional Responsibilities of a ECF Intensive Behavior Specialist:
- Provide direct client care, including but not limited to: Accurately completing all steps in administering medications and document on the MAR (if required), planning meals, providing appropriate therapy (i.e. physical, behavioral, and occupational), bathing assistance, and client transportation involving lifting 50 or more pounds.

``` - Provide necessary teaching of Independent Living Skills training, including but not limited to: housekeeping, behavior management and response, financial responsibility, community behavior, cooking/meal planning in accordance to the individual's dining plan, ensuring that the client dresses appropriately for activity.

``` - Provide hands on assistance with personal care needs such as ADL's in the person's home and community.

``` - Provide client transportation to employer, doctor appointments and other community activities.

``` - Accurately complete all Reportable Incident Forms

``` - Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must have a valid F-Endorsement driver license and maintain a valid F-Endorsement driver license and acceptable driving record throughout employment with SSTNproof of automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.
High school diploma or GED required wi h five years of verified work experience with individuals with extreme and, or challenging behaviors.
OR
Bachelor's Degree and one year prior experience working with extreme and/or challenging behaviors, developmentally, intellectually and/or physically disabled individuals preferred; demonstrated ability to interact successfully with special client needs; demonstrated organizational and decision making skills; ability to document daily client activities and observations in a timely, concise, thorough and accurate manner, or any equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the following knowledge, abilities and skills:
Ability to complete required documentation on paper or electronically.
Ability to perform the physically demanding aspects of the job.

Associates Degree and three years prior experience working with developmentally, intellectually and/or physically disabled individuals, extreme and/or challenging behaviors; demonstrated ability to interact successfully with special client needs; demonstrated organizational and decision making skills; ability to document daily client activities and observations in a timely, concise, thorough and accurate manner, or any equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the following knowledge, abilities and skills:
Ability to complete required documentation on paper or electronically.
Ability to perform the physically demanding aspects of the job.
