Job Summary and Qualifications
This role helps support planning, execution, training, coaching, of care experience improvement and advancement for all related programs, initiatives, and interventions. They work collaboratively with senior to unit leaders using patient voice to elevate the patient experience by using data analytics to identify priority areas, develop goals, improvement tactics, and measure effectiveness. They serve as a subject matter expert on service excellence, care experience, and patient engagement and reliably deliver evidence-based actionable insights, while championing a continuous improvement culture.
Up to 25% travel required
Key Responsibilities:
•Serves as a subject matter expert on established and evolving evidence-based practices related to service, care experience, and patient engagement.
•Collaborate, communicate, and lead integration efforts across all interdisciplinary healthcare roles to ensure care experience strategy alignment.
•Analyze quantitative and qualitative patient data to measure and drive behavioral and operational efficiencies.
•Effectively communicate patient experience data verbally, in writing, and in-person with the ability to link it back to the “big picture” for various audiences.
•Verify, prepare, and distribute enterprise weekly data reporting
•Provide education and access governance for patient experience data and serve as a resource to Division/hospital leaders and staff to interpret reports, train users on data reporting tool, and explain patient experience survey data.
•Work with Group, Division, hospital leaders to perform patient experience data analyses and observations in key hospital service areas (i.e., ED, inpatient, outpatient, etc.) to identify and address service performance gaps, priority areas, actionable insights, develop goals, accountability and effective measurement.
•Execute targeted, timely data-driven strategies to achieve highly-reliable outcomes and ensure adoption and sustainability across the enterprise.
•Provide expertise in the application of patient-centric strategies for leaders and staff by hardwiring tactics, behaviors, and tools that elevate the patient experience.
•Provide internal coaching and consulting for Division/hospital leadership and staff.
•Help develop and reinforce standards to promote and sustain a continuous improvement culture across the organization.
•Develop and deliver patient/care experience education, training, and reinforcement programs for leaders, physicians, and all staff.
•Support patient experience contributions to Magnet® and Unit of Distinction (internal award program).
•Monitor and maintain Care Experience Collaborative internal website and content.
•Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”.
•Build healthy trust and relationships with staff, leadership, stakeholders, peers, and vendors.
Education & Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree required/Master’s degree preferred
•A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a health care-related role with experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
•1-3 years of leadership experience.
•Certified Patient Experience Professional Certification (CPXP) preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Behaviors:
•Working knowledge of the implications of measures for CAHPS results and for CMS guidelines
•Working knowledge of CAHPS and other patient experience surveys/metrics
•Knowledge of current trends and best practices in care experience and service excellence relevant to services provided by hospitals, physicians, and caregivers
•Demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence and teamwork
•Exercise critical thinking and sound problem-solving skills to deliver high value solutions
•Experience leading conflict resolution, service recovery, and patient advisory groups
•Exceptional planning skills with a results-oriented record of achievement and the ability to set goals, meet deadlines, and evaluate results particularly in regard to significant changes within an organization.
•Must have a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills for both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
•The ability to use word processing and desktop publishing software to design and draft correspondence and proof, edit, or format documents.
•The ability to use spreadsheet software to enter, evaluate, and modify data
•Proficient design skills to create presentation slides that communicate information clearly and concisely in accordance with branding lexicon.
