Amazon Demand Planning Analyst, Supply Chain, Global Demand Planning in Nashville, Tennessee

The OpsTech Solutions - Supply Chain (OTS-SC) team plays a critical role in supporting Amazon's Worldwide (WW) Stores business by overseeing planning, purchasing, procuring, provisioning, assembling, shipping, deploying, and managing IT equipment. This team is responsible for facilitating new site launches, retrofits, expansions, relocations, colocations, decommissions, customer programs, and lifecycle programs. Within this dynamic landscape, the Demand Planning Analyst will be responsible for developing and implementing sophisticated analytics-driven planning solutions to meet customer demand on time. Drawing on a deep understanding of supply chain data and processes, this role will leverage advanced analytical capabilities to create transformative tools and models aimed at optimizing operational effectiveness.

This role requires a unique combination of analytical expertise, technical skills, and business acumen. By providing valuable data-driven planning solutions, the Demand Planning Analyst will play a crucial supporting role to optimize Amazon's fulfillment operations and achieve the organization's on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance targets.

Key job responsibilities

  • Retrieving, aggregating, and integrating data from multiple sources to build a comprehensive view of supply chain performance.

  • Defining data elements and developing analytical and reporting capabilities to enable data-driven decision-making.

  • Collaborating with technical and non-technical teams to unlock the value of disparate, unintegrated data sources across the organization.

  • Leveraging expertise in data platforms and analytical tools, such as Python, Quicksight, Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, PowerBI, and Tableau, to create dynamic, user-friendly planning solutions.

  • Developing sophisticated models and algorithms to predict funding and inventory requirements, determine optimal ordering timing, and enable on-time, in-full (OTIF) fulfillment.

  • Delivering business-critical insights and automated planning tools to internal OTS-SC teams, external partners, and customer business units.

  • Fostering innovation in supply chain analytics by exploring the use of AI/ML technologies to optimize various planning and execution processes.

  • Ensuring alignment between technical solutions and strategic business objectives, continuously enhancing supply chain responsiveness and reliability.

  • Effectively communicating findings, proposing strategic alignments, and driving project management to enable successful implementation of planning tools and models.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.

  • 3+ years of managing stakeholders in cross-functional project experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • Knowledge of SQL at an intermediate level, including: compile queries, subqueries, aggregation/grouping, data modification, etc.

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
