Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Database Administrator 3 to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining complex database systems, ensuring high performance and availability. You will also be tasked with optimizing database structures for efficiency and reliability, implementing security measures, and coordinating data migration and integration efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Multi-Tenant Architecture and PostgreSQL database servers.

• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement efficient, scalable database solutions.

• Monitor database performance and system resource utilization to ensure high availability.

• Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies including, but not limited to RMAN for Oracle, pg_dump for PostgreSQL.

• Configure and maintain database security, ensuring appropriate user permissions and roles are in place.

• Analyze and forecast future database storage requirements and plan for scalability.

• Perform data migrations between Oracle, PostgreSQL, and other databases, ensuring data consistency and integrity.

• Implement and manage high availability solutions such as Oracle Data Guard Replication, RAC and PostgreSQL streaming replication or clustering.

• Utilize tools like Oracle AWR, PostgreSQL pgstatstatements, and other performance analysis tools to identify bottlenecks, analyze slow queries, and tune databases for optimal performance.

• Define data storage, indexing strategies, and partitioning schemes for optimal performance.

• Perform recovery tasks in the event of database corruption or failure.

• Monitor for potential security threats and resolve vulnerabilities in both Oracle and PostgreSQL environments.

• Develop and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data movement and transformation. Requirements • Proficient in SQL and Oracle database systems

• Experience in database design and development

• Ability to troubleshoot and rectify database-related issues

• Knowledge of database operations and planning

• Familiar with auditing and compliance procedures

• Skilled in database security measures

• Understanding of automation and optimization techniques for database systems

• Proficient in using monitoring tools for database management

• Ability to collaborate with different teams

• Experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries

• Adherence to best practices in database administration

• Experience in maintaining logs for database operations

• Familiarity with database upgrades and configuration management

• Experience in database migration

• Understanding of HIPAA-regulated environments
