Vanderbilt University Creative Specialist in Nashville, Tennessee

Key Functions and Expected Performance:

• Partner with PCB team members, and partners from the University Communications team as appropriate

to develop PCB communications strategies and content.

• Draft content for PCB area communications

• Edit/Write/Design webinars, videos, podcasts/blogs, newsletters, articles, letters, presentations, websites.

• Effectively use multiple channels to communicate important messages.

• Implement and manage branding strategy for the PCB function and its various programs.

• Measure and present results of communication efforts.

• Partner with University Communications and other campus communication channels to align core

messaging for organizational consistency in all aspects of communication based on data, best practices

and lessons learned.

• Demonstrate understanding of the university’s mission, values, goals and priorities and an ability to

ensure that all are considered in developing communications.

• Demonstrate ability to think creatively and pragmatically with a willingness to consider many options and

problem-solve.

• Adhere to confidentiality and business ethics; demonstrate outstanding judgment and discretion.

• Champion measurable continuous improvement by optimizing people, processes, and technology,

including AI, to democratize access and opportunity to learning, development, and growth opportunities

across the organization.

• Additionally, undertake any other responsibilities as needed.

Supervisory Relationships:

This position does not have supervisory responsibility; this position reports administratively and functionally to

the Assistant Director, Communication Innovation Strategist.

Education and Certifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.

• A degree in communications, graphic design or a related field is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

• At least 3 years of experience in communications, graphic design, or related field is required.

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and MS products is required.

• Experience working for or with an institution of higher education or Human Resources is preferred.
