Key job responsibilities

• Design, development and ongoing operations of scalable, performant data warehouse (Redshift) tables, data pipelines, reports and dashboards.

• Development of moderately to highly complex data processing jobs using appropriate technologies (e.g. SQL, Python, Spark, AWS Lambda, etc.)

• Development of dashboards and reports.

• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business domains, requirements, and expectations. Additionally, working with owners of data source systems to gain insights into capabilities and limitations.

• Deliver minimally to moderately complex data analysis.

• Manage the timeline and deliverables of projects, anticipate risks and resolve issues.

• Adopt best practices in reporting: data integrity, test design, validation, and documentation.

• Have knowledge of AI (Artificial Intelligence) /ML (Machine Learning) and other industry solutions in this space to know when to apply what to solve business problems.

• Have proven track record of launching new products, solutions and managing projects end to end.

• Excellence verbal and written communication skills.

• Comfortable wearing multiple hats and go over and above to drive results.

A day in the life

• Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, to provide comprehensive BI solutions.

• Develop and refine a robust data architecture and reporting framework by navigating various business criteria to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

• Own creating, evolving, and managing essential metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards that drive key business decisions.

• Uphold high standards in reporting and analytical practices, focusing on data accuracy, experimental design, analysis methodologies, validation processes, and thorough documentation.

• Build knowledge regarding advancements in technology, tools, methodologies, and best practices in analytics, and disseminate this knowledge within the analytics team.

• Extract valuable insights from client feedback and operational data, propose actionable recommendations, and assist GO-AI leadership in making pivotal business decisions.

• Design and execute studies to assess the impact and efficiency of various initiatives, contributing to the improvement of key performance indicators and influencing the strategic direction in the long term.

About the team

GO-AI R&D is an innovation and technology hub. As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you'll be pivotal in prototyping and developing new ML programs, providing rapid, agile support for both short- and long-term programs. The team works closely with tech teams, applying skills in data structuring, reporting, and analytics to initiate R&D projects and ensure data integrity. Our role involves extracting insights, shaping strategies, and enhancing feedback mechanisms for new products. We are a fast-moving and dynamic team that values quick turnaround and impactful solutions, driving our commitment to tech excellence and transformative solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience writing complex SQL queries

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
