Job Description Position Overview: Quality Assurance: Develops, implements, and maintains a proactive prevention based quality system for plastic containers that meets or exceeds customers' specifications. Leads team through HACCP, GMP and Product Safety audits, and implements improvement/cost reduction teams to improve productivity. Champion of the customer. Materials Back Up: Responsible for ensuring operating policies and procedures are followed and for supervising all phases of purchasing raw materials, production scheduling/control and inventory control. Controls accuracy of inventory and productions reporting through the use of SAP systems. Supervises warehouse functions including shipping and receiving, and logistics/transportation functions including outside carriers. Directly supervises warehouse personnel. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Quality Assurance Responsibilities: Provides leadership for the plant quality function. Develops, implements, and maintains a quality system that meets or exceeds the requirements of our customers and is in alignment with corporate requirements. Conducts quality audits to assure that quality systems/processes are being followed by plant operations personnel. Takes corrective action as appropriate. Champions programs for external and internal PPM reductions to reduce the cost of quality and improve productivity. Trains, coaches and mentors quality/production personnel to develop skills and understanding in statistical methods, i.e. SPC, process capability to realize quality improvement. Communicates with and visits customers to understand the performance of our products and evaluate their production process to enhance performance. Takes leadership role in resolving customer issues. Monitors and addresses CPK data to ensure customer specifications are met or exceeded and drives action to result in a consistent quality bottle Facilitates root cause corrective action on processes found to be producing non-conforming product to prevent reoccurrence. Responsibilities also include monitoring and maintaining cleanliness in the production and warehouse areas. Oversees all external third-party audits including GMP/HACCP and IFS PacSecure. Monitors and maintains Pest Control programs. Promotes employee involvement that helps facilitate best in class processes and partnerships with vendors and customers.
