Amentum Program Management Support – Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in Naples, Italy

This position is not currently funded and is contingent upon funding to Amentum. At this time, Amentum is seeking candidates to fulfill contingent roles. The expected award timeframe is Fall 2025.

We are seeking a Program Management Support Specialist to join our team in Naples, Italy, providing essential program management and administrative support to the Forward Deployed Regional Maintenance Center (FDRMC). This role involves managing administrative tasks, maintaining and updating assessment records, coordinating with external auditors, and assisting with various program initiatives and evaluations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the FDRMC by tracking inspection data and facilitating external assessments, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DON), and other regulatory requirements.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Record, review, and update approved assessment findings.

  • Serve as a liaison for external audit and assessment agencies, including Naval Audit Services (NAS), General Accounting Office (GAO), and Naval Inspector General (NAVIG).

  • Monitor and track the correction of deficiencies identified during external assessments.

  • Assist in developing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), assigning responsibilities, and tracking the status of initiatives.

  • Coordinate inspections and evaluations, such as the bi-annual Fleet Maintenance Activity Assessment.

  • Develop and deliver presentations, training materials, and training sessions for upper-level management regarding program requirements.

  • Oversee and coordinate the FDRMC Material Inspection and Certification (MIC) program in compliance with NAVSEA, USFF, DON, and DoD guidelines.

  • Provide support to managers in identifying and reporting program elements.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Proven experience in program management or administrative support roles, preferably in a military or government environment.

  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Effective communication skills to act as a liaison with internal teams and external agencies.

  • Proficiency in creating and delivering presentations and training materials.

  • Familiarity with developing POA&Ms and tracking project milestones.

  • Must have an active secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications (not required) :

  • Experience working with Naval Audit Services, GAO, NAVIG, or similar agencies.

  • Knowledge of NAVSEA, USFF, DON, and DoD guidelines related to Material Inspection and Certification (MIC).

  • Background in supporting fleet maintenance assessments and inspections.

  • Advanced proficiency in data tracking and reporting tools.
