Medtronic Principal IT Project Lead - BRM in Nanakramguda, India

A Day in the Life

The major role of the BRM is to Provide leadership, liaison, and continuity and be the bridge between IT and Business Units.

This role will require working closely with the MEIC team as well as the global and IT organizations. This role will require a strong communicator who has a solid understanding and experience in R&D, Change-management, and Building /Supporting IT Infrastructure projects for all BU’s.

Position Description:

  • IT Business Relationship Manager (IT BRM) will provide leadership, liaison, and continuity and be the bridge between IT and Business Units (BUs).

  • IT BRM will be the First Line Manager and manage team of Regional Business Interfaces with assigned portfolios, accounts, and BUs. IT BRM will be based in Hyderabad and reporting to IT Leader– India. He/She will also provide IT Operations Management support and perform other management duties as assigned.

  • IT BRM will be highly experienced and skilled, technically sound with more than 8 years of IT industry experience with at least three years in leading professional teams

  • IT BRM, will work closely with stake holders to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for the BUs

  • IT BRM will have both; an external focus to timely and successfully deliver IT solutions to and an internal focus to coordinate with IT to ensure that products, services and technologies properly integrate together.

  • IT BRM must possess a strong understanding and experience in deploying diverse IT technologies

  • IT BRM should have demonstrated performance of quick learning and understanding defined processes of IT and BUs and enhanced partnering with BUs

  • IT BRM will also oversee the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

  • IT BRM to Ensure the quality policy/system is planned, understood, implemented and maintained by ensuring compliance within the department

  • IT BRM to Organize the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery of commitments.

  • IT BRM to work with Global Information Services to identify new tools to improve current state.

Responsibilities , includes, but not limited to the following:

  • Provide leadership, liaison, and continuity and be the bridge between IT and Business Units (BUs).

  • Understand the business, manage complexities, negotiate, communicate, prioritize and meet the IT needs of MEIC

  • Ensure that BU projects align with the IT strategy and technology that best provides maximum return on investment

  • Assesses and communicates risks, issues and opportunities for BUs associated with IT investments

  • Be the single PoC for BUs, manage project intake process, evaluate and analyze project objectives, work for solution design, negotiate and resolve issues, Monitor-health and communicate appropriately

  • Manage relationships with BUs and all other stakeholders for successful start-to-finish delivery of the projects to BU satisfaction.

  • Ensure continuous delivery of IT Services to BUs through oversight of service level agreements

  • Understands business strategy and communicates to rest of IT to ensure alignment to business goals

  • Keep current with trends and issues in IT Industry, current technologies and prices

  • Creates culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for operational efficiency and deploying enterprise best practices and employee engagement to improve cost, quality, delivery, employee and customer satisfaction

  • Determines critical skills within the organization/functional area and provides inputs for development plans and forecasts for staffing

Skills Required:

  • IT BRM must have

  • Strong interpersonal skills, business acumen, ability to negotiate

  • Good Stake holder management

  • Networking

  • Organization understanding and demonstrated performance to stretch beyond convenient hours to negotiate business delivery

  • Solid analysis and IT design background in MNCs

  • Strong listening, persuading, influencing and shaping skills to communicate win-win scenarios, eliminate disconnects and work to resolve problems and offer meaningful alternatives.

  • Strategic Partnering and service shaping skills with demonstrated use of appropriate metrics to drive delivery and value

  • Skills for managing business relationship and influencing business practices

  • Strong communication skills. Excellent English oral and written communication skills

  • Customer service approach: Customer focused with strong customer service skills and the ability to apply sensitivity and discretion when required

  • Demonstrated Project Management approach

  • Strong sensitivity for cultural differences and significant global acumen.

  • Process orientation

  • Availability in case of urgent requirement after working hours

  • Dynamic, proactive and positive attitude, flexibility even in a stressful situation

  • High level of energy, enthusiasm and passion

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree Engineeering.

  • More than 12 years of IT relevant industry experience in Service Delivery and Relationship Management with at least 5 years in leading professional teams in MNCs in the stated domain of service delivery with demonstrated maturity and knowledge.

Nice to Have

  • Professional/technical certifications in Project Management is highly desirable.

  • Management Degree is preferable
