Job Description
Primary Location:
Nampa, Idaho
Quality Control Technician: Performs physical measuring and chemical analysis tests of packaged beverages and materials in quality control laboratory of beverage production plant by performing the following duties.
Selects test samples of closures, containers, labels, and packages from production lines following established procedures as to time, place, and sequence.
Weighs filled containers to measure volume of contents.
Checks the quality of all raw materials that come into plant (fructose, water, cans, bottles, etc.).
Checks the quality of all finished goods.
Records test results and prepares graphs and charts.
Ensure that all products leaving the plant for sale meet established quality standards.
Collects and researches data.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
Possess basic knowledge of lab testing and record keeping. Shares expertise with others.
Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
Follows policies and procedures; Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports organization's goals and values.
Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
Adapts to changes in the work environment; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
Clean work area as needed and comply with established procedures and safety rules.
Completes all required Food Safety and GMP training and demonstrates compliance on a continual basis.
Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively be- fore groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform basic functions of math in all units of measure and formats. Ability to interpret rate, ratio, percent, and graphs.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or
diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
