job summary:
A Senior Controls Technician in the Nacogdoches, TX area is needed for a multinational power management company. This Senior Controls Technician role involves executing and managing small to medium-scale projects, troubleshooting complex automated equipment, and providing support to junior technicians.

responsibilities:
Support Engineering projects to install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot complex automated equipment.
Diagnose and resolve complex electrical/controls problems, including non-routine issues.
Use Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) including basic and ladder logic to read/write basic wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints for diagnosis.
Work independently to meet project requirements with limited supervision.
Educate lower-level technicians through on-the-job training as needed.
Fabricate and install control and power panels.
Review diagrams, drawings, and specifications for the design, construction, and/or alteration of instrument and control systems.
Skills:
Advanced understanding and working knowledge of PLC based control products (PLC5, PLC 500, RSLOGIX 5000/Studio), VFD and DC Motor Controllers, NFPA 70 Electrical Code, and electrical safety.
Proficiency in low, medium, and high voltage troubleshooting and repair.
Observance and adherence to proper lockout/tag out procedures.
Proficiency with various electrical testing equipment.
Excellent team working, planning, and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize assignments according to business needs.
Experience: 10 years of electrical and controls system fabrication, assembly, and installation or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two-Year Associate or
Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
Experience with SAP or similar maintenance/work management software.
Robotics.
