Job Summary:
In this role, you will provide project field engineering support with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover. Your work will contribute to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-SM2
Major Responsibilities:
Work Planning & Packaging
Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
Interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures.
Material Management
Initiates requisitions for field purchases
Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
Quantities
- Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
Safety / Quality Control
- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Technical
- Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
System Turnover Coordinator
For Direct Hire
- Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
STR / Subcontract Coordinator
Reviews and approves inspection test plans
Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Design Interpretation & Drawing Review
- Thoroughly reviews architectural plans, elevations, and specifications, ensuring that field installations match the design intent and comply with all relevant codes and standards.
Material Verification & Quality Assurance
- Confirms that all architectural materials and finishes meet the specified requirements. Oversees inspections and testing as needed to validate quality and performance characteristics.
Field Inspection & Compliance
- Conducts regular site inspections to verify adherence to architectural details, focusing on critical aspects like waterproofing, insulation, and finish treatments. Documents non-conformances and initiates corrective actions.
Coordination with Design & Other Disciplines
- Collaborates closely with architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, and subcontractors to resolve design conflicts, adapt to site conditions, and maintain architectural integrity.
Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement
- Diagnoses field issues such as material defects, dimensional discrepancies, or design conflicts. Implements timely solutions and integrates lessons learned into future project phases.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintains comprehensive records of field changes, test results, and punch lists. Communicates updates through clear, concise reports to project stakeholders, ensuring alignment on design objectives and quality standards.
