WestRock Company Logistics & Purchasing Officer in N Richmond, Australia

The Opportunity:

A fantastic opportunity to join the Supply Chain team has become available at our site in North Richmond, Australia. As the Logistics & Purchasing Officer you will be the key contact for inbound and outbound international exports as well as responsibility for managing the external 3PL warehouses in ANZ. The role will act as key supply chain contact and purchasing officer for our logistics and warehousing needs, as well as other indirect purchasing categories. You will report directly in to the Supply Chain Leader for ANZ.

About the Role:

  • Management of import/exports

  • You will be tracking containers, lead times and liaising directly with our external warehouse suppliers.

  • Escalating risks associated with delays or early deliveries

  • External Warehouse Management

  • Complete monthly reconciliation of external warehouses across ANZ and track stock accuracy

  • Investigate and resolve any stock discrepancies.

  • You will coordinate stock takes with our external warehouses as required.

  • Supplier Management for Logistics and Warehousing Suppliers

  • Own and lead supplier reviews with key logistics and warehousing suppliers.

  • Track supplier metrics and drive actions with suppliers to maintain green scorecard and resolve issues with supplier.

  • Consult with Warehouse team for outbound logistics updates.

  • Purchasing Officer (Indirect Focus)

  • Raise POs for items based on requirements. Analyse and manage spend to reduce costs. Implement and own the indirect purchasing system.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Experience in purchasing and/or 3PL management

  • Experience in customer or supplier facing role

  • Experience using ERP systems

  • Good excel and analytical skills

  • Proven time management in a fast-paced and varied environment

  • Formal Logistics or purchasing qualifications highly regarded

  • Continuous Improvement experience highly regarded

  • Project management skills highly regarded
