Actalent Diet Technician in Murrieta, California

Job Title: Diet TechnicianJob Description

As a Diet Technician, you will maintain availability to health care team members during work hours and demonstrate flexibility in acquiring new skills and accepting new or additional work assignments. You will respond quickly to special requests from staff, peers, or patient/care providers and participate in bedside rounds, communicating with the health care team effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Print patient nutrition information.

  • Verify tray accuracy based on therapeutic diets.

  • Not responsible for patient screening.

  • Applicable in any healthcare setting, including long-term care and inpatient rehab.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of nutrition and dietetics.

  • Experience in quality checks.

  • Understanding of CCS and TPN calculations.

  • Experience with NICU and complex cases.

  • Proficiency in Computrition or similar nutrition software.

  • 6+ months experience as a Diet Tech or Diet Aide.

  • Experience interacting with patients and providing customer service/patient care.

  • Professional bedside manner.

  • High School Diploma.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 6 months to 1 year; ideally 2 years.

  • Experience in acute healthcare with any Nutrition Software (Computrition or CBORD preferred).

  • No Diet Tech Certification required.

Work Environment

You will be part of a team of 6 Diet Techs with one lead, floating across 2 to 6 floors. The team includes 2 openers, 2 closers, and all 6 work midday shifts. The work schedule includes 8-hour shifts, 7 days a week, with availability from 5:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Shifts may include 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, or 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM, with flexibility within the given window. The schedule is provided a month in advance. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00
