Intermountain Health Senior Medical Director, Health Equity in Murray, Utah

Job Description:

Purpose

• Medical Director, Health Equity reports directly to the Chief Quality and Safety Officer.

Job Essentials

  • This role will be responsible for advancing the vision of ensuring that all patients achieve equitable health outcomes. Top priorities of this role include:Supporting the identification and elimination of prioritized health disparities through interventions at the interpersonal, institutional, and structural levels.Partnering with leaders and physicians throughout the organization on health care equity strategy and operations.Serving as a content matter expert and resource on health care equity for Clinical Excellence and the organization.

  • The role is a leader in Clinical Excellence supporting clinical and operational leaders at the system, region, market, and care site level.

  • Enterprise scope may include Intermountain Health clinical functions including clinical programs, service lines, shared services, medical group, acute and ambulatory care sites, following a system led, locally deployed support model.

  • The role supports strategy and execution aligned with the Clinical Excellence leadership team to drive overarching strategies that support the delivery of highly reliable care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, patient-centered, and equitable.

Minimum Requirements

  • MD or DO

  • Physician in good standing and no professional conduct issues.

  • Demonstrated clinical experience in multiple care settings.

  • Demonstrated experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and understanding of cultural competencies, health disparities, and/or healthcare disparities.

  • Excellent consulting skills demonstrated success in leading by influence.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and to varying levels in the organization is critical to success.

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate interdisciplinary teams and to develop effective relationships with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Progressive leadership experience, such as medical directorship, medical staff leadership, or program leadership.

  • Proven experience to drive system change.

  • Proven experience or certification in process improvement such as Lean, OR Patient Safety or Experience.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
