Clinical Operations Training Specialist

DonorConnect is seeking a full-time Clinical Operations Training Specialist. This position is responsible for developing and implementing continual training and development of clinical staff to foster high performance and routinely meet or exceed performance standards. You will collaborate with the Learning and Organizational Development team to create, develop, and implement new hire onboarding skills and competencies providing continuous assessment and feedback to new hires and teams. Provide on-the-job training and evaluation. Conduct real time field and desktop audits/observations and assessments to assess staff competency and identify opportunities for improvement with remedial training and/or continuous education and participate in development plans as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Training/Education/Certification:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing preferred, and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience

Experience Required:

  • A minimum of one year of experience developing curricula, competency-based assessments, and training programs and a minimum of 2 years of prior clinical experience at an OPO

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • High degree of professionalism and public relations abilities
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees and personnel in hospital settings
  • Accurate and capable of balancing multiple priorities with different deadlines
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and work independently to prioritize tasks
  • Strong behavioral assessment, crisis intervention skills, and experience with deescalation techniques
  • Ability to manage brain-dead donors through independent critical thinking, problem solving, and resourcefulness
  • Advanced sensitivity in providing emotional support to grieving families, assessing family dynamics, and planning support
  • Willingness to train and assist others, demonstrating flexibility and a supportive attitude
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, organ and tissue transplant fields, critical care, OR environment, and medical terminology
  • Exposure to patient elements including communicable disease, bloodborne pathogens, and other common hazards of a clinical setting
  • Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
