Intermountain Health Clinical Engineering Apprentice in Murray, Utah
Job Description:
The Clinical Engineer Apprentice is assigned to learn & perform basic medical equipment service on low-risk equipment and works under direct or indirect supervision. These functions are performed while also completing the apprenticeship educational program.
Essential Functions
Capacity to learn about medical equipment, human anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology.
Entry level knowledge of basic troubleshooting and repair techniques to perform equipment repairs.
Accountable in the performance of preventive maintenance procedures on low-risk medical equipment.
Develops the skill to utilize tools and test equipment required for job duties and responsibilities
Adheres to confidentiality requirements and safeguarding of protected health information (PHI).
Ability to use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for documentation.
Aptitude to understand regulatory requirements pertaining to medical equipment management.

Commitment to learning and staying compliant with the requirements of the Apprenticeship Program.
Associate of Applied Science Degree is preferred. Education will be verified.

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs.
For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
