Google Android Automotive Product Manager, Middleware, Digital Twin in Munich, Germany

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Candidates will typically have 4 years of experience in product management, consulting, co-founder, or a related technical role.

  • Typically 2 years of experience building and shipping technical products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with headless embedded vehicle compute systems.

  • Ability to be comfortable with an embedded software platform and how our partners will make great products.

  • Ability to be comfortable in long-term planning and defining a strategic planning.

  • Excellent critical thinking skills, with the ability to be comfortable when there is little or no data.

  • Passion for vehicles and cars.

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

The Android Auto team collaborate with vehicle manufacturers to develop and deliver on this massive opportunity, building on a proven embedded platform to create a leading Assistant-powered, navigation, entertainment, and communication vehicle system, which will be delivered to specialized people-moving devices.

  • Be responsible for Android Automotive OS (AAOS) for Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV) middleware, Digital Twin (CI/CD), and safety relevant platform solutions. Work across multiple functions such as Business Development (BD), Partner Engineering (PEng), and Engineering defining the next generation of vehicle software.

  • Define the AAOS for SDV middleware business strategy, roadmap, and specific critical user journey requirements that will enable new compelling experiences.

  • Define a Digital Twin strategy, roadmap, and connected platform requirements to help vehicle OEMs and Google identify how to improve time-to-market, reduce development costs, and innovate in a cloud connected ecosystem.

  • Define the scope, user journeys, requirements for a digital product represented in the Cloud, and drive the roadmap for them.

  • Immerse yourself in the consumer’s mindset and auto experiences across the ecosystem, allowing you to develop products that enable those experiences.
