Citigroup Product Sales Senior Specialist in Mumbai, India

This role is for the Trade and Working Capital Sales Lead for Western Region in India, responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of the complete suite of Trade and Working Capital Solutions. The client base consists of large conglomerates and multinational companies headquartered in the Western Region of India. The focus of the role is to deepen and broaden relationships at multiple levels within Treasury /Finance and other decision makers/ influencers, extending the breadth and usage of all Trade Finance solutions especially Structured Trade Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Asia South Head of Trade and Working Capital Sales, this individual will develop and execute the Trade strategy for select large local corporatesand multi-national clients in India.

  • Identify new revenue opportunities, originate deals, manage to grow base revenues, minimize attrition

  • Execute and monitor development on existing wallet assessment to identify opportunities

  • Lead client engagement in the structuring of solutions and executing new mandates

  • Lead complex structured deals working closely with the Distribution & Product teams, Operations, Risk and Legal

  • Manage multiple drivers to achieve overall business objectives, including pricing, returns, and with constant mark to market on pricing vs competition

  • Communicate client feedback and market intelligence on competitor offerings to the Product organization to enhance the Trade offering so that it is industry leading, relevant and meets the clients' evolving needs, with input into the investment spend process to prioritize key developments

  • Ensure product solutions are managed within robust control frameworks and are aligned with regulatory and institutional requirements

  • Closely manage client portfolio and address risk mitigation needs when necessary

  • Implement and lead execution of sales campaign by client segment/product to improve market share and client penetration

  • Responsible for forming partnerships with Trade Co.s and intermediaries to deliver customized working capital solutions

  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of deep experience in Trade Finance products including Receivables Finance, Payables and Commodity Trade Finance

  • Track record of executing complex and structured trade finance transactions

  • Experience of business development, building and maintaining key relationships

  • Experience of developing and executing sales strategies for relevant products & solutions, including ESG related

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
