Citigroup Officer - KYC Operations Analyst C09 Mumbai (Hybrid) in Mumbai, India

The KYC Operations Analyst 1 is an entry-level position responsible for participating in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring, governance, oversight and regulatory reporting activities in coordination with the Compliance and Control team. The overall objective of this role is to assist in the development and management of a dedicated internal KYC (Know Your Client) program at Citi.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Relationship Manager and Compliance teams to assist with the preparation, development, due diligence and approval of the electronic Know Your Client (KYC) record and supporting country appendices.

  • Create and maintain KYC records by obtaining information from internal and external sources (firm website, regulatory websites, etc.)

  • Validate the information within KYC records and Customer Identification Program (CIP) documents to ensure completion and accuracy. Conducting Due Diligence and Know Your Customer (KYC) research for clients as part of the business-wide Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance remediation process.

  • Perform the required KYC screening on clients by documenting and corroborating the information obtained on the client as required by the Global KYC Procedures utilizing a variety of independent research sources. Executing and reviewing negative media alerts from client screening and escalate where necessary.

  • Analyze Client data, documentation and negative news in order to determine Client Risk Profile as established under the Global KYC Procedures.

  • Ensure KYC records incorporate local regulatory requirements / Global Business Support Unit (BSU) Standards.

  • Maintain the BAU Production tool. Meeting production target volumes and dates as advised.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in similar KYC roles.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills would be a significant plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.

  • CAMS Certified candidates preferred.
