Department Profile

We are the Non-Financial (NFR) group within the Institutional Securities Group (ISG) management function. NFR is responsible for managing several non-financial risks across ISG, including but not limited to Compliance, Supervision, Conduct, Client and Product Risk. As an in-business risk management team, we partner with our ISG business stakeholders, as well as the technology groups and 2nd line control functions to understand business needs and their associated risks, execute on practical solutions, and maintain a global governance, monitoring, communication, and awareness strategy that underscores a culture of control excellence. Our team has a global presence with members located in New York, London, Mumbai, and Hong Kong.

Primary Responsibilities _Entitlements management & Data Leakage_ · Provisioning employees to Morgan Stanley accounts and Sales & Trading applications as per the user’s role and business

· Periodically reviewing the appropriateness and relevance of the user’s entitlements to various applications and ensuring there are adequate Information barriers

· Improving and monitoring existing control frameworks and / or creating new control frameworks where required

· Opining on the effectiveness of existing entitlements processes and addressing gaps or building new processes where required

· Ensure access to third party platforms are relevant and appropriate to the role of the employee.

· Developing business requirements and procedures for strategic initiatives

· Helping with the entitlement’s strategy for IED globally, which includes managing key entitlements initiatives and projects related to transfers, vendor applications, segregation of duties, cyclical and adhoc entitlements reviews

· Identify areas of risk and review instances of data leakage and escalate/ remediate appropriately

· Representing the BU in Firmwide working groups related to entitlements and data leakage, and advocating for solutions towards any challenge faced by IED

  • *_Risk Projects_

· Lead Risk projects, related to the supervisory platform and the information security program

· Developing business requirements documents and procedures for strategic initiatives

· Identifying and driving various efficiency and productivity initiatives for the team

_Internal policy compliance_ · Reviewing internal policy breaches, investigate, educate and escalate as necessary

· Reviewing electronic communications and escalating incidents breaching internal policy

· Create management reports to highlight issues, trends, new regulatory changes etc.

Skills required (essential) * Chartered Accountant or MBA * 6-12 years with a background in Compliance, Risk Management, Trade surveillance and / or Trading Support focusing on sales and trading issues * Ability to work independently * Exceptional organizational skills and high degree of attention to detail * Knowledge of Equities markets, understanding of applicable regulatory rules and regulations * Excellent oral and written communication skills * · An understanding of and strong focus on the mechanics of a control environment, including escalation and risk-related issues * Proficiency in MS Office and related applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
