Citigroup AVP - TAX Transfer Pricing in Mumbai, India

The core activities will involve manage the transfer pricing documentation creation process for various countries and other incidental activities that will support tax and transfer pricing teams in various parts of the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Citi tech, Transformation team, Controllers and the TP Doc team to design and implement the system

  • Management of end-to-end documentation process for assigned share of countries

  • Work in close coordination with the tax teams, business, finance and tax professionals

  • Monitor International TP developments and initiate action plans

  • Review country specific documentation for complex jurisdictions

  • Develop Internal Knowledge development tools and conduct in-house trainings pertaining to core transfer pricing

  • Identify and implement opportunities to reengineer and standardizing the process

  • Participate in setting up and enhancement of group TP policies

  • Participate in controversy management, as required

  • Coordinate with external advisors on successful defense of group TP strategy, where required

  • Assisting Citi management in the advanced pricing agreement process

  • Implementing BEPS actionables across Citigroup

  • Ad-hoc tax transfer pricing work

Knowledge/Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in core tax transfer pricing

  • Experience in managing tax litigation/ controversies

  • Financial services Transfer Pricing experience required

  • System development/ implementation

Skills:

  • Knowledge of tax transfer pricing concepts and the relevant global TP guidelines on transfer pricing (OECD guidelines, BEPS action plans)

  • Ability to read and interpret regulations and decide on suitable course of action

  • Good understanding of economics, financial management, statistics and taxation

  • Prior experience of working on tax transfer pricing documentation, litigation and planning exercises

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills

  • Excellent understanding of financial products and financial services industry

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to plan and develop, lead initiatives with a proven track record of success in delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively problem solve as well as multi-task effectively and efficiently
