Requirements: Applicants must take and pass the Law Enforcement Exam and complete a rigorous pre-employment screening program. The minimum requirements for entry include:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Candidates must read and write English
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of New Jersey
- Must possess a valid NJ Driver's License
- Must be eligible to possess a firearm
- Background investigation will include employment history, driving history, domestic violence history, and a criminal background check
- Applicants must pass a thorough medical and psychological examination
