We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to be part of the Assurance Engineering team to deliver Liquid service. Assurance Engineering team assures the security of all of Microsoft’s products and services using the power of software, data, AI, standards, and partnership. Liquid is a data-centric cloud service that manages multiple terabytes of data and infuses artificial intelligence to support compliance and risk decision making across the Company, particularly focused on providing the automation and analytics behind many of Microsoft's commitments to security, privacy, and other areas of customer trust. In this role, you’ll work with a range of fun, modern cloud and data-centric infrastructure technologies -- Azure app services (e.g., web sites), data systems (e.g., Kusto, Azure Data Lake and Cosmos DB) and Azure CI/CD. You’ll have great horizontal view of cross scrum teams and technologies. Responsibilities

• Design, build and ship features of our services with a focus on Azure infrastructure and cross team coordination.

• Be responsible for end-to-end software life cycle from design, implementation, CI, CD and to service reliability and recoverability. o Full engagement in agile-based software development including DRI rotation.

• In-depth data analysis to identify service trends and make necessary adjustments and improvements of our services.

• Constantly improve customer experience through quantitative service monitoring, alerting, and the use of data and operational dashboards

• Use your love of software to make the Liquid service even more reliable and amazing and increase customers trust on Microsoft!

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

• OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

• OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

• OR equivalent experience.

• 2+ years of experience working with cloud technologies such as Azure or equivelent.

• 2+ years driving projects across cross functional teams.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
