Microsoft Corporation Principal Software Engineering Manager - Azure Datacenter Manager Team in Multiple Locations, United States

The Datacenter Manager team forms the core stack that powers the Microsoft Cloud and manages datacenter infrastructure for the global Microsoft fleet, including Azure, Xbox, Exchange and more. Titan is a microservices platform that runs the cloud at massive scale. Responsibilities

  • Foster and develop talented engineers capable of developing and running scalable, reliable, maintainable services. 

  • Keep a razor focus on the usage/metrics of the owned services and be super customer focus. 

  • Create robust career development plans to help team members grow. 

  • Lead, coach, and build a diverse, inclusive, high-performing team where all team members can do their best work. 

  • Help the team plan and execute technical deliverables. 

  • Work closely with our external partners to support the team’s mission. 

  • Collaborate closely with teams within Microsoft to leverage the best technology to advance the team’s mission. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of people management experience. 

  • 3+ years of experience leading new projects.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years people management experience.

Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
