Business Unit Overview This position is part of Novanta's Synrad business unit. Synrad has come to be recognized as a leader in the development of sealed CO2 lasers and electro-optics technologies. Based on our patented "All Metal" tube technology, there are now well over 250,000 Synrad lasers in use throughout the world. Synrad lasers are used in a wide variety of industrial applications, including marking, coding, engraving, cutting, and converting on a wide range of target materials. Job Summary This position is responsible for supporting the QA department through applying basic quality techniques, to measure, track, analyze and report on materials, processes and products to ensure conformance with company's quality standards. Primary Responsibilities You will apply basic quality techniques to measure, track, analyze and report on materials, processes, and products for the purpose of ensuring conformance with company's quality standards. You will interpret quality standards in conjunction with Quality Manager or Engineering. You will maintain product quality records in both physical and database form. You will proactively identify and prioritize product based on dynamic delivery needs. You will set-up and operate automated testing equipment for Outgoing Quality Assessment You will perform regular visual and qualitative quality assessment to ensure a high quality standard on finished product and materials You will perform minor alteration to incoming product as-needed, and provide clear feedback on any that fail to meet quality expectations You will assist with regular audits of our processes for their impact on quality assurance activities in support of our QMS General tasks Strict compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations. Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist. Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies High School Diploma or equivalent required 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing or Quality environment Preferred familiarity with best handling practices for circuit boards, and circuit board testing Preferred experience using Oracle Preferred experience working within a LEAN environment Preferred experience working with a Quality System Strong attention to detail - both for quality & workmanship detail Good an
