Computer Consultants International, Inc. Senior Project Manager in Mukilteo, Michigan

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the State of Michigan Project Management Office (PMO) supporting LARA, DIFS, MDOS, and the Lottery on a multi-year high-priority project. This role, as part of the DTMB Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), involves close collaboration with DTMB Agency Services technical teams and agency executives/stakeholders. The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, multi-vendor environment supporting a hybrid workforce and possess exceptional communication and follow-up skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Utilize the State of Michigan's Project Portfolio Management Tool (Clarity) to prepare project schedules, assign resources, and manage budgets.
  • Prepare presentations for various audiences, including executives, managers, and project team members.
  • Monitor, control, and communicate project progress by managing cost, schedule, scope, resources, quality, and risks.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communications with stakeholders, including project sponsors, team members, program managers, and DTMB management.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Provide leadership and foster collaboration between technical and business teams to obtain consensus and commitment.
  • Develop and maintain key SUITE Project Management Methodology (PMM) deliverables throughout the project lifecycle, such as Project Charters, Schedules, Budgets, Communication Plans, Status Reports, Risk and Issue Management Plans, Change Requests, and Project Closedown Summaries.
  • Manage communication with other agencies and ensure adherence to SUITE PMM and System Engineering Methodology (SEM).

Change and Issue Management:

  • Facilitate and enforce the Change Management process, ensuring all Change Requests have appropriate approval before action.
  • Create Corrective Action Plans (CAP) for projects in yellow or red status.
  • Understand project benefits and the impact of change requests on business cases, updating project artifacts accordingly.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

  • Review and understand vendor contracts, managing vendor deliverables and adherence to approval procedures.
  • Facilitate interactions among stakeholders, clarifying expectations and ensuring deliverables are completed.
