Orange Bank & Trust Company Specialized Construction - Relationship Manager in Mt. Vernon, New York
General Summary: The Relationship Manager is responsible for increasing and maintaining the sales volume of a bank branch office. In addition, the Relationship Manager is responsible for networking with the community for new business acquisition and customer retention, primarily in the Construction, Manufacturing and Trade industry. This role focuses on fostering relationships within the construction, manufacturing, and trade industries to drive deposit growth, expand lending portfolios including Orange Wealth Management services and Cash Management products, and enhance client satisfaction. The Relationship Manager must identify both customers and prospects to determine if they are retention, expansion or acquisition customers and market and sell the Bank’s services accordingly. The Relationship Manager shall support the execution of successful sales and client relationships to achieve desired business results. The Relationship Manager shall be responsible for managing existing client relationships and referring new clients to all areas of the Bank, such as Lending and Orange Wealth Management opportunities. The Relationship Manager will have oversight of budgeting and cost control, security, compliance, consumer and commercial lending, customer service and internal and external business development.Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:Business Development:1.Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain clients in the construction, manufacturing, and trade sectors.2.Develop internal and external business development plans to ensure that branch deposit and loan referral goals are met or exceeded. The Relationship Manager is expected to engage with customers and potential customers to increase branch business. 3.Responsible for Business Development efforts to foster the Bank’s growth within various markets, utilizing the full complement of Bank services and products..4.Develop prospects from current commercial customers, referral leads, and sales and trade meetings. Manage relationships through scheduling and executing calls, responding to referrals from Centers of Influence (COI’s), Business Advisory Council members (BAC), and Director’s resolving issues, problems, concerns and other matters. Manage customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.5.Work to expand the overall profitability of relationships through cross-selling, upgrading services, and other sales techniques.6.Participate in joint calls with all business lines of the Bank for their customers and prospects. 7.Participate in external networking and community activities and other appropriate business development efforts.8.Participate in contractor and trade associations9.Develop client events with efforts to solicit new business development opportunities10.Drive membership and participations within the construction/trade association spacesSales Force:11.Utilize Salesforce (SFS) to track all business development, networking, calling activities and pre-call plans. All activities must be notated in the SFS system for documentation purposes and goal accomplishment.12.Prepare and submit timely and accurate business development and customer retention records through the utilization of SFS..Cash Management:13.Identify clients best suited for the Bank’s Cash Management products and services. 14.Work directly with the Cash Management Department to ensure all clients’ needs are being met.Lending Responsibilities:15.Understand all loan offerings including residential, consumer and commercial loan products. Possess a fundamental understanding of underwriting requirements and principles including cash flow. Basic comprehension of tax returns and financial statements utilized in the underwriting process.16.Refer commercial loans to the commercial lending team which includes obtaining complete financial documentation from the customer or prospect for underwriting purposes. Assist the commercial lending team, as necessary, with the customer or prospect in getting the loan completed and submitted for approval.17.Process applications for consumer loans including residential mortgages, home equity lines of credit and personal loans.Other Duties:18.Spontaneous decision making ability is an essential function of this position as policies and procedures must be complied with to ensure compliance.19.Meet with Regional President, President & CEO, and Senior Board Management as necessary20.Adhere to company policies to ensure compliance with all applicable internal and external rules and regulations. 21.Work nights, weekends, holidays, and off business hours as required.22.Attend and participate in internal and external meetings as required.23.Participate in personal development activities, internally and externally, as appropriate.24.Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE:Education:Required: High School diploma Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.Experience: Required:•At least 5+ years of proven sales and new business development experience, including new deposits and ability to manage large and diverse portfolio of commercial clients.•Excellent communication and relationship building skills. Proven sales and business development abilities to attract new clients preferredPreferred:•Five (5) Years Relationship Management experience with a Commercial Bank and/or related Trade/Construction experienceWORK ENVIRONMENT:•Working Conditions: The work locations for this position are split between the Branch and various outside sites when engaging in external business development activities.•Equipment Operations: A general knowledge of personal computer applications including windows and word perfect.
