The team you will be a part of

The Finance Operations team reviews, evaluates, develops, implements, maintains and verifies internal and business controls for processes, systems, financial statements, journals and reports in compliance with corporate objectives and government standards such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) or the 8th Company Law Directive. Ensures that documentation for all processes across the organization is reviewed and updated periodically. May coordinate with external auditors to prepare the attestation of management assessment on internal controls.

This role in summary

Currently, Whirlpool Corporation is seeking qualified candidates to fill a key position on our Insinkerator Customer Solutions team in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be accountable for all financial operations within a B2B customer base. This role is expected to work collaboratively with sales, logistics, and order management to provide efficient payment and safeguard the organization to mitigate risk within the accounts receivable. Directly leading cash application, collections, dispute resolution, sales and use tax, and data management. #LI-DD1

Your responsibilities will include

Oversee the credit functions for Insinkerator including but not limited to the below:

  • Manage the extension of new credit for any new customers as well as monitor and adjust as necessary any credit limits as deemed necessary throughout the year.

  • Responsible for the risk of the Accounts Receivable portfolio, run and interpret credit reports to protect against deteriorating credit situations. Lead KPIs in collections to meet or exceed collection targets.

  • Lead offshore collection team and directly assist with challenges and escalations.

  • Prepare the Bad Debt Analysis at the end of each month and report out.

  • Schedule and lead monthly briefings on any credit issues with sales and finance.

  • Held accountable for dispute resolution with realistic goals, report out areas of concern to stakeholders, and collaborate to find solutions and decisions.

  • Prepare monthly cash forecast by the second working day of the month.

  • Perform month-end accounts receivable closing duties, including clearing of invoice errors or incomplete customer setup identified on the month-end dashboard and collaborating with finance on AR reconciliations.

  • Responsible for accurate and timely cash application.

  • Responsible for accurate and up-to-date sales and use tax for all trade customers.

  • Manage documentation and forms for UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) filing, lien waivers, bankruptcy, and escheatment.

  • Other duties as deemed necessary.

  • 5% domestic and/or international travel

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5+ years experience in a leading financial role

Preferred skills and experiences

  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, reporting standards, and tax laws

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Practical understanding of Oracle or other ERP (SAP, JD Edwards, etc)

  • Advanced MS (Microsoft) Excel skills

  • Self-starter who understands the importance of being proactive, staying positive, having a sense of urgency, and collaborating well with others.
