Google Technical Program Manager II, Machine Learning Data, Pixel in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience in program management.

  • 2 years of experience with data collection and labeling for machine learning.

  • Experience with data analytics and business intelligence systems to monitor the health of the program.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

  • Experience with automation/robotics or computer vision.

  • Knowledge of bio-metric privacy and security on mobile devices and platforms.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The team works on Machine Learning (ML) features for Pixel and other first-party products using commodity hardware, and deliver new technologies on Pixel phones exploring innovative solutions for future products. In this role, you will primarily manage the data needed to develop the ML technologies for Pixel phones, and will be working with the ML researchers, client, infrastructure teams, and cross-company partners. You will gather data and ensure the quality for use in training and evaluation.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Develop processes to ensure data quality and introduce improvements to increase quality and data yield over time.

  • Drive requirements to the data collection tooling team to improve overall throughput and quality of the data collected.

  • Manage communication of progress/status within the core team and escalate issues as necessary.

  • Work with external vendors when needed to hire and manage contractors and recruit participants.

  • Collaborate with the ML team to gather data requirements and translate them to operational execution plans.
