Wayfair Software Engineer II, Purchase Platform in Mountain View, California
<p><em>Candidates for this position should be based in Mountain View, CA and will be expected to comply with their team's hybrid work schedule requirements. The salary range for this position is $165,000-$198,000, however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. <p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Flex your strength and knowledge on Java, DevOps, and microservice development.</li>
<li>Contribute to developing services that are built to industry best practices, including observability, architectural patterns, and inter-team dependency mechanisms (like SLOs)</li>
<li>Write code to implement high-quality, scalable, future-proof services that will have effective system boundaries</li>
<li>Participate in team planning and delivery meetings in a way that actively supports the goals and success of the team</li>
<li>Identify risks and gaps in your assigned work and surface them to team leads</li>
<li>Work closely with product managers, designers, and peers to define project requirements and execution plans</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>We Are A Match Because You Have: </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience</li>
<li>3+ years of experience in engineering, with a preference for candidates with a mix of start-up and large-company experience. eComm domain expertise is a bonus</li>
<li>Hands-on experience delivering software within high-growth environments at scale </li>
<li>Experienced in designing and building large-scale, cloud-based systems across various projects</li>
<li>Experience operating distributed services at scale, including familiarity with observability tools, logging techniques, troubleshooting, and incident response.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience driving solutions forward and ability to influence results</li>
<li>Expertise with a modern programming language (such as Python, Java, C#, Scala, GO, or others). Java experience preferred.</li>
<li>Experience with one or more common open source platforms, tools and framework, eg: Kafka, Kubernetes, Containerization, Java microservices, GraphQL APIs, Aerospike etc</li>
