Google Program Manager II, Pixel Carrier Engineering in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.

  • Experience in any of the following areas; 5G, LTE, Universal Mobile Telecommunications System and Technical Program Management, tablet, wearable or phone space.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience with cellular radio technologies and features such as 2G/3G/4G LTE, VoLTE, 4X4 MIMO, 5G, antenna design, and their deployments among global cellular network operators.

  • 4 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

  • 2 years of experience managing carrier certification including scheduling, testing and execution.

  • 2 years of experience in modem/telephony technology stack and troubleshooting.

  • Experience managing all aspects of Carrier Type Approval (TA) process including carrier requirements delivery, sample management, certification schedule, and packaging requirements.

  • Knowledge of Android and industry standard certification bodies such as PTCRB and GCF.

The Pixel Carrier Program Management team’s mission is to plan, deliver, and optimize Pixel Carrier approvals. Obtaining carrier type-approval is a complex development and integration process involving carrier ranging, compliance, feature development, extensive testing, physical samples, issue management, and operations development and launch cycle.

In this role, you will manage the process smoothly for a particular Pixel market, carrier, or in-market software release, defining and delivering key program milestones to launch on-time with product excellence.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $117,000-$172,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Design and deliver predictable program communication plans in collaboration with program stakeholders.

  • Determine phasing and metrics associated with program lifecycle that effectively address continuous improvement including resource stewardship in close collaboration with program stakeholders, including near and long-term objectives.

  • Determine and collect data required to execute and govern programs effectively. Maintain project trackers and status reports. Identify and execute on program tasks including proactively managing dependencies.

  • Execute change management requirements that are identified by program stakeholders.

  • Build trusted relationships with program stakeholders, including managing expectations of program stakeholders and ensuring they have the insights they need to make effective decisions.
