Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience in a technical project management or a customer-facing role.

• 2 years of experience partnering with engineers, product managers, product specialists or operations managers to drive product development.

• 1 year of experience in data analysis.

Preferred qualifications:

• Analysis experience with large, intricate or custom datasets.

• Experience in Mobile, E-commerce or Gaming.

• Experience in human evaluation, crowdsourcing or data labeling at scale.

As a Data Operations Manager, you will work alongside Product and Engineering teams to define app quality standards and improve recommendation quality, primarily enabling Product teams to rank and filter content strategically across the store. The app quality data is also used to evaluate launch decisions, train ML models, and monitor long term store quality; ultimately improving end-user’s experience. Lastly, the data is also used in cross-Product Area use cases, in partnerships with trust and safety, Ads, and Business Development.

In this role, you will ensure the program produces reliable evals to help drive the use cases. You will design, run, and own human computation tasks that bring an understanding of apps and game quality to the Google Play ecosystem. You will own this process and collaborate with experts across Google Play to design evaluations, train, and calibrate offshore raters, analyze data, and drive ongoing process improvements.

Specifically, this role’s main focus areas will be Form Factor App Quality and Content Understanding, the data labels that help us power the play recommendation engines.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $106,000-$156,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Work closely with vendor raters, vendor managers, and vendor trainers to identify gaps or issues in data collection, and design and implement solutions to address them.

• Apply human eval expertise to ambiguous technical and business problems, formulating hypotheses, running experiments, and iterating quickly.

• Lead analysis work and provide data driven recommendations on experiments, pilots and regular rater performance while partnering with engineering and business analysts to deliver timely reporting.

• End-to-end ownership of a Product data flow work-stream that sustains existing operations while implementing new features and improving critical quality key performance indicators.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality human eval data to key products and engineering stakeholders to help power ML models in the store. Drive continuous improvements, improving processes while maintaining or increasing volume and efficiency.
